April Leadership Message
Hello TED Family!
We are excited to share several highlights that reflect the continued strength and momentum of TED. Last month at the CEC annual conference in Salt Lake City, TED members had strong representation across sessions, panels, and networking events. The visibility and engagement of TED at the conference underscores our collective impact and value members are contributing to the field both at the preservice and in-service levels.
During the TED business meeting, it was announced that the Early Childhood SIG has established a new partnership with The Dialog: A Journal for Inclusive Early Childhood Professionals. Supported by the Publications Committee, this collaboration with an open-access journal highlights the outstanding work of the Early Childhood SIG in promoting the translation of research to practice. The partnership advances shared goals of meaningful inclusion for young children and their families across early childhood personnel preparation, practice, and policy.
It was also announced that a new preconference program, TED IMPACT (Innovative Mentorship in Policy Advocacy and Capacity-Building for TED Leaders), has been established. Led by TED’s policy advisor and supported by the Policy Committee, this hybrid professional development program will equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and mentorship needed to become effective leaders and policy advocates. Through a full-day in-person workshop (lunch provided) and three follow-up virtual sessions, participants will develop policy expertise, practical advocacy strategies, and actionable plans, strengthening leadership capacity and professional networks to influence policy and practice at local, state, and national levels. Visit here to read more about TED IMPACT and register for this excellent opportunity.
If you haven’t done so recently, we encourage you to visit the TED website. The Communications Committee is regularly featuring key TED updates and sharing information about upcoming events and webinars.
