CEC Preparation Program Report Developer Workshop Leader: Joni Baldwin, Ed.D., University of Dayton, Ohio In this interactive workshop, you will learn the components of CEC Preparation Program Recognition Reports that will be reviewed using CEC’s Professional Preparation Standards and submitted as part of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) Accreditation process. All registrants will receive CEC program developer resources. You will come away better prepared to develop program performance-based assessments, align them with the CEC content standards, and prepare the final program report.

This workshop will train you to review program reports using CEC’s Professional Preparation Standards submitted to CEC as part of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) accreditation process. Principles for and examples of performance-based program review, and strategies for reviewing reports and for successfully writing the sections of the CEC Program Recognition Review will be discussed. This workshop is offered at no cost for approved registrants. Please submit a reviewer application and CV (found at Volunteer Program Reviewer Resources | Council for Exceptional Children) to be approved for this workshop. All approved registrants are expected to review program reports in one or more of the next two review cycles.

Session 2: Changing the Locus of Control: Culturally, Linguistically, and Ability Relevant Lesson Plans for Preservice Teachers

Is your triangle upside down?  Are less than 80% of all students or student groups meeting benchmarks?  Are more than 15-20% needing tier 2, and more than 5% needing tier 3 interventions?  The dominant influences of the monolingual, monocultural, and monoable paradigms at schools limit who can be successful in core instruction, pushing more culturally, linguistically, and academically diverse youth into tier two and three interventions.
