Tuesday, November 5, 2024 12-4pm Forging Innovations in Program Development: CEC 2020 Initial Practice-Based Preparation Standards (K-12) as the Basis for Program Development and Assessment

This workshop is intended for program faculty who are developing or revising initial special educator preparation programs. Although it will be especially helpful to those pursuing national accreditation and/or CEC SPA Recognition, the approach to program design will be useful to any program desiring to align with the most current international standards and high leverage practices. The session will provide a brief overview of the 2020 Initial Practice-Based Professional Preparation Standards (K-12). A six-step approach to program development, along with practical strategies and tools for program development and assessment will be included. Since participants will have ample opportunities to apply several tools to their own program development processes, it might be helpful for colleagues to attend in pairs or groups for collaboration purposes.
